Paris and beyond..... Lava Hot Springs, July 1997

Oh Great... headed for Idaho and ended up in Paris.......

Home of the Post and the Tabernacle:

Then down to Bear Lake and to Garden City for a magnificent raspberry milkshake:

... Eventually ending up in Lava Hot Springs. A wonderful little town of about 500 people, with new businesses like Aura Soma Lava ramma lamma ding dong springing up around the town..

Lava hot Springs is about 30 miles from Pocatello, down in the southeastern corner of Idaho. After centuries of being well known to the native americans, the hot springs were further developed by the state of Idaho in order to promote tourism in this beautiful area.

Nice hot springs with nearby tubing in the Portneuf river. I'm not really a water person, but tubing on the river was good fun.

Nice little motel was right across the street:

Sights of the town....

Heading home we found Grace:

On the way home... . I found these ancient cow catapults.... ya see, ya load them errant cows in that there catapult thing and then ya just fling 'em back over yonder there towards the house.... simple, efficient and ya don't need no stinkin' cowboys.....

A view of the Flaming Gorge....
